AMERICANS GAUFF AND PEGULA LOSE WOMEN’S DOUBLE AT FRENCH OPEN

American double’s team Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula lost in the final to France’s Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 defeat.

Sunday’s final came a day after the 18-year-old Gauff lost to Iga Swiatek in the singles title match.

No strangers to hoisting the victory trophy Garcia and Mladenovic also won the French Open together in 2016.

This was the first pairing of Gauff, who is from Florida, and Pegula, from New York.
